Dear Colleague!
You are kindly invited to take part at the Fourth
International Conference "Modern Problems of
Nuclear Physics" to be held 25-29 September
2001 in Institute of Nuclear Physics, Ulugbek, Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The aim of the Conference is to learn about trends and activities in
fundamental and applied aspects of particle and nuclear physics.

The working languages of the Conference will be English at plenary
sessions and both English and Russian at parallel sessions.
Tashkent being capital of Republic of Uzbekistan is the biggest city in
Central Asia.
Tashkent is located in valley of Chirchik river at foothills of Tien Shan
mountains at about 300 m altitude over sea level. With its more than 2000 years
of history it is also one of the ancient cities in the world. There are more
than 50 scientific research institutions and centers, 15 theatres, 20 museums
and about several hundred industrial enterprises. Tashkent today with its new
administration buildings, modern hotels, business centers and highly developed
infrastructure together with some ancient buildings is one of the most beautiful
cities.
WEATHER
Usually in the last decade of September the weather is dry with
sunny days. The average temperature is about 20-25 degr. C on daytime and 10-15
degr. C at night. However occasional rains may happen.
SOCIAL
PROGRAMS
The excursions to ancient city Samarkand, mountains, local museums as
well as concert at Navoi Ballet and Opera Bolshoi Theatre will be organized.

PARTICIPATION AND ABSTRACTS
Applications for participation, registration forms and
abstracts should be sent to Organizing Committee no later than 1 July 2001 by
e-mail.
The abstracts should be written in English in accordance with the
following rules:
2 pages in A4 format paper including tables and figures, all margins
should be 25 mm, text processor MS WORD, Times New Roman font, 1.5 spaced. The
abstract headings should be centered and conformed with the following
guidelines:
TITLE - all capitals, 14 pt., bold,
Authors - 12 pt., bold,
Affiliatin - 12 pt. italics.
One line and two lines should be skipped between Title and Authors, and
between affiliation and the text of the abstract, respectively. The text should
be at 12 pt., 1.5 spaced and justified.
The Book of Abstracts will be distributed at the conference at the
registration.
CONFERENCE FEE
Conference fee will include two receptions, concert at Opera House,
social events, coffee
breaks, excursion to Tashkent and copy of conference proceeding. Details
of payment and
amount will be described in Second Circular.
