The FRS as part of the RISING acquisition

The FRS data acquisition can be run in stand-alone mode or as part of more complicated systems. An example of the latter is the setup required for the RISING project.

As illustrated in th Figure, the RISING data acquisition concept is built around three quasi-independent "branches". Data from all three will be merged by a "time orderer" process, which sorts the event information with the help of time stamp information from a common system clock. The "time orderer" will also be responsible for taping and for making the merged data available to e.g. on-line analysis clients.
