S271
Purpose: Two proton decay of 19Mg  » Proposal

Test (Nov '05)

The aim was to test the experimental setup to be used in the detection of the 19Mg decay products. A 8B secondary beam on a Be target was used.

The reconstruction and identification of the 7Be + p breakup channel was performed, where the 7Be fragments were accepted by the second half of the FRS and identified at the S4 focal,

while the protons were detected by means of two micro-strip detectors positioned just behind the S2 target.

Technical problems

1. Scaler channels.
2. 5 DSSD channels died during the run (cables to ADC or ADC itself ?).
3. Delays for ToF between S2-S4 were not set properly.
