High and intermediate energy nuclear data for accelerator driven systems In this project, nuclear data in the 20-2000 MeV region were provided by means of a combination of nuclear models and well-selected intermediate- and high-energy experiments. A whole panoply of European accelerators was utilized to provide complete sets of experimental data for key elements and energies. Nuclear model codes were improved and validated by these new experimental data and then used to generate enhanced ENDF-formatted data libraries below 200 MeV, and cross sections for high-energy transport codes above 200 MeV. The impact of the new data libraries and high-energy models was directly tested on some important parameters of an accelerator-driven system (ADS). This is of primary importance for the computation of future ADS spallation modules and the nuclear reactions involved in ADS surrounding materials. The new data go far beyond the 20 MeV limit of the common data libraries that are used for conventional nuclear (energy) systems.
